EcarTRADE is an online site where local new car dealers trade used cars between themselves to balance their inventories and reduce wholesale losses.

In today's marketplace, smart dealers know that used cars must not be allowed to age excessively in their inventories. Efficient operators usually have policies in place to keep cars in inventory no more than 45-90 days.

Therefore all used cars not sold retail before the deadline must be wholesaled. After reconditioning costs and book changes wholesale losses are eminent.
